Lag Screws - sometimes called lag bolts - have a hex head, a gimlet or cone point, and a thin, sharp, coarse pitched thread. They are designed for insertion into wood and produce their own mating thread. Threading is usually 60% to 67% of the length.

Length is measured from under the head to the tip of the screw. Lags are installed with a washer.

Available in both 18-8 & 316 stainless steel. Type 316 Stainless Steel should always be specified for salt water applications. Type 316 stainless steel contains molybdenum for superior corrosion resistance in salt water and other highly corrosive environments.

Non metric Stainless 316 Lag Screws or - Coach Screws - in Australia

When its now hard to buy anything other than metric sizes these days in AU the one place you need to know about is this company. A small order of Lag and washers was presented in way never found down under. Well packed and labelled for safe keeping. Just fantastic. For those overseas use "MyUS.com" for a delivery address
