Start slowly and gradually increase speed until the head is driven flush. A high driving speed increases the chance of stripping the drive recess. If the tool has an adjustable torque collar, use a piece of scrap lumber to determine the proper setting needed to drive the head flush with the surface. This will prevent the screw head from twisting off.
