Protect Joists with WiseWrap Butyl Joist Tape

WiseWrap Butyl Joist Tape is a new addition to the DeckWise line of waterproof flashing barriers. This tape uses a high-performance butyl hybrid adhesive whereas the original Joist Tape product uses a rubberized asphalt adhesive. Joist Tape with butyl adhesive is less temperature sensitive making it a great choice whether applied in cooler months or during extreme heat. This pressure-sensitive adhesive is easy to use in a variety of conditions, even on slightly damper materials. However, it is always best to apply to clean and dry surfaces.

Prevent Joist Rot!

Using Butyl Joist tape will protect deck joists from rot, decay, and general water damage. This tape self-adheres to the joist surface and creates a water-tight seal around fasteners. It will prevent water damage to the lumber that occurs over time. Keep decks strong and structurally sound for the long term by preventing the occurrence of rotting, splitting, and corrosion.

Protect for Longevity

For ultimate protection, apply barrier tape to deck joists, ledger boards, and around the deck support posts. Buytl Joist tape is available in 2 convenient sizes. 1-5/8" x 50' rolls will fit precisely over the top of the joist with no need to fold down the sides. The 3-1/8" x 50' rolls are the perfect size to cover double joists or for those who prefer to apply the protective barrier to both the top and down the sides of the joist.
